Accommodation is available only to students of year-long and semestral and also summer courses. Proof of accommodation, together with the study confirmation, is a basic document needed for issuance of a student visa.
The type and specific offer of accommodation always depends on the capacity of the contractual partners who provide accommodation for students of preparatory courses. The type of accommodation also determines its price and specific conditions, which are set by the contractual partner. The preferred and possible type of accommodation can be assessed individually depending on the current situation. Please respect the fact that your preferred accommodation is not always available.
The following types of accommodation are usually available:
1) Student dormitories:
a) University of Economics and Business Prague (VŠE v Praze) dormitory (Thalerova dormitory / Blanice dormitory / Vltava dormitory)
b) The University of Finance and Administration (VŠFS v Praze) dormitory (Campus Plzeňská / Campus Vlkova)
2) Commercial accommodation. It is offered when the student dormitories capacity is full.
The accommodation confirmation letter for the whole course period is issued in the case the student pays two or three-month fee for the dormitory and non-refundable registration fee for accommodation – 150 EUR. The price for accommodation depends on its type and is always calculated during the registration process. After paid period of accommodation, it is paid monthly (always one month in advance) until the end of June.
After arriving in Prague a refundable deposit may also be required (depending on the specific type of accommodation). In some cases the refundable deposit is due to be paid with the initial payment for accommodation. Penalties will be deducted from the deposit in the event of a breach of the dormitory rules or damage to the equipment of the dormitories and rooms. The deposit will be refunded in full at the end of the accommodation period if the student adheres to the rules and does not cause any damage.
Cancellation fees can be applied. The amount depends on the specific accommodation´s rules which are known before the accommodation is paid. You will receive complete information about the cancellation conditions for the given type of accommodation upon registration.
Accommodation cost for summer course is 400 EUR (for all types of accommodation).
